want!

just about the only place i haven't mentioned my awesome fingernails is on the internets. if you've seen me in the past couple of months, i apologise for the duplication here.
before the wedding i wanted to get my nails in better shape and started going for regular manicures. my nails are very weak and i tend to chew them. the salon kept trying to convince me to get what they refer to as biogel but initially i figured it was a ploy to make more cash. eventually i gave in and boy am i glad i did. they apply 4 coats of gel substance that dries instantly under a small uv lamp (yes, i wear uv block on my hands). it costs about 50-100% more than a standard manicure, is dry the second you walk out of the door and lasts 2-3 weeks. it's incredible. this week they even did me a custom glitter topcoat. if you're into having your nails done, even if they aren't weak or brittle, i'd really recommend it. having perfectly shiny unchipped nails for weeks on end is really weird. and great.

an experiment that worked out pretty well!

the laptop lid was made from melted glacier mints with rice paper windows behind it. it came out better than i hoped and made a laptop that was both fully edible and stayed upright without external support (it was pushed down into the actual cake for stability).

next stop wedding cake central.

i feel so hip.

my mehndi's down to the very faintest trace now, two and a half weeks after it was done.
i've got some tubes of henna in the fridge though, so who knows what is in the mendhi future? paul is not (yet) convinced about the need for a mendhi moustache.

this was done freehand by a guy outside the market in pune, it took about 20 mins and i was seriously impressed.
